Port ship unloading

Image
I had a wonderful opportunity to visit Mundra Port and the Kandla Port and be a spectator to their most modern and the state of the art logistics especially the Mundra Port. The vastness of Mundra Port gives you faith in India's ability to undertake projects of such huge size. The Mundra Port is about 65 Km from the town of Gandhidham while Kandla Port is about 10 Km.

ATTITUDE

1) Heavy rains remind us of challenges in life. Never ask for a lighter rain. Just pray for a better umbrella. That is attitude. 2) When flood comes, fish eat ants & when flood recedes, ants eat fish. Only time matters. Just hold on, God gives opportunity to everyone! 3) Some people always throw stones in your path. It depends on you what you make with them,Wall or Bridge? Remember you are the architect of your life. 4) Every problem has (n+1) solutions, where n is the number of solutions that you have tried and 1 is that you have not tried. That's life. 5) It's not important to hold all the good cards in life. But it's important how well you play with the cards which you hold. 6) Often when we lose all hope & think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, `relax dear its just a bend. Not the end. Have Faith and have a successful life. 7) When you feel sad, to cheer up just go to the mirror and say, `Damn I am really so cute`and you will overcome your ...

IIMA

I joined IIMA on 20th June 2011 as part of PGP 2011-13 batch. We arrived here on 17th June and after coming to the campus straight away went to SAO where I got keys for MSH 1804 where I had to stay for a week before moving to the new Dorm 29 which would be alloted to me. The rooms in MSH were fully AC and it was respite in the heat of Ahmedabad in the month of June. We did shopping for some basic stuff in Big Bazaar Himalaya Mall. On Monday, Manisha left in morning for Guwahati. I had Registration scheduled at 1030 am. After registration I collected my books and went to my room. The Orientation program was to start at 5 in the evening. The class were to officially start on 24th June. The first week was really very hectic as all the information was being fed to us. I had not been in an academic environment for quite a while and so it was kind of tough in the beginning picking up the habit of studying. The slot 1 finished like a lightening and now we are in slot 2. Hopefully this slot to...

NGC Posting

After waiting for nearly a month in NGC, I got my posting orders as DME(D) for NGC Diesel Shed. We could sigh a relief that after my transfer to NF Railway, we could be together and have a proper family life. In the month that I was on leave I joined Gold's Gym for a period of one month. Gold's Gym is very well maintained Gym and is visited by Who's who of City. I had my birthday and marriage anniversary also falling in the month of July. The city is a cosmopolitan city with people from all over the country found here. It had got big malls, multiplexes and restaurants. There is nothing that should make one feel that he is somewhere away from the mainland as is the normal perception among the people in India. The Kamakhya temple is one of main pilgrim places drawing crowd from all over the World. During this month, I also started my preparations for CAT which I had been writing for past few years. After getting posted at NGC Diesel Shed, there was hardly any time for persona...

Mumbai

After being posted for few months in Kalyan, I finally got my relieving orders for NF Railways. The GM/CR Mr. BB Modgil gave consent to relieve me. The period in Mumbai had been unexpectedly wonderful and enjoying. I had always wished to live in Mumbai. Though this time it was only three months, it gave me the sense of fun to be a Mumbaikar. I used to get up early everyday, then catch local to Dadar, from where I boarded Udyaan Express till Kalyan. Everything was set to seconds. Even a delay by few seconds would mean that I will not be able to catch the train. In Kalyan, the work pressure was lower than that in Pune Diesel Shed. But it required more decision making as a DME in Kalyan as Kalyan had only three Officers-Sr.DME(D),DME(D),ADME(D). In the evening, I always made it a point to visit someone or the other. The weekends I utilized in going to various places like Elephanta caves, Water Kingdom, BPT Garden for Phalun Dafa classes. Phalun Dafa is a kind of meditation practice and po...

DME(D) Kalyan

I joined Kalyan Diesel Loco Shed as DME(D) on 21-04-10 in place of Parivesh who went on 45 days leave to accommodated excess JA grade Officers in Central Railway. Life has been eventful in the last two months. I shifted to my quarter in Sangam Park near the Railway station in Pune. I got one bedroom set from Houseful showroom which included a dining table, a dressing table and a cupboard also. Jamal, my junior, was also sharing the quarter with me and we had great time. Mohit, my batchmate, also joined us on 4th April. He is here for his internship. It was a hostel like fun in the quarter. From 10th to 15th April I had a brief visit of Nagpur and Guwahati. And on 16th the order for Kalyan was faxed to Pune. Here in Mumbai, it is very humid and a shirt can be worn only one time. I am staying in the rest house in Nirmal Park. Mumbai is a very fast paced city and life is a lot hectic and rough here. Hoping for an enjoyable stay in Mumbai which is also called the city of dreams...
