GM's Shed Inspection

Shri BB Modgil did the inspection of Diesel Loco Shed, Pune on 5th May 2009. He arrived in the Shed at 0930hrs and was in the Shed till 1300hrs. He inspected Heavy Repair(Electrical) Section, Bogie Section, Cleaning Section and Heavy Repair(Mechanical) Section. After which he was shown a display of Shed's achievements and some major failure components which was followed by his address to all the Officers in the Conference Hall. He was reasonably satisfied with the cleanliness of the Shed and impressed with the innovations done in the Shed. Shri Modgil carried out the inspection in depth and went into details of every component he inspected. A lot of hard work had gone into the preparations for the Inspection. It was almost ten till we go free from the Shed last ten days. Rest everything was fine and I have been asked by the CME to go to GTL and GY Shed this week and KZP and KJM Shed next week. So will pack my bags and get back soon.

I watched the movie Mighty Heart today. It is a movie based on the brutal murder of the Jewish American Wall Street Journal Journalist Daniel Pearl. I had heard the movie was shot in Pune. There is a scene in which you can see the ST bus in a background. A lot of portions of Karachi are also shown and seeing I found that Karachi is totally a messy city. How unsecure one must be feeling in Pakistan? Cant imagine that till you are there. One thing that I didnt like about the movie was that they have not projected Pakistan in bad light. Its no secret that Pakistan is a safe haven for international terrorist. More justice would have been done in the movie had it not followed that ideology. Today was also holi. I could not play it as I was suffering from cold. So just spent the day sitting at home watching movie and surfing net.

nobel prize to a scra guy

It was really hearty to hear that Mr. R K Pachauri, head of IPCC got the Nobel Prize for peace for the year 2007. He is from 1958 batch of SCRA. he worked for a while in DLW before moving to USA for his higher studies. He wass also the chief of TERI. He really made the SCRA and railways community proud.
